Great shot, Doug! I've seen a few on my last trips to the ranch. What blind were you shooting from?
My last two trips to Forrest's have been pretty slow. Raccoons, squirrels, few cardinals and numerous grackles... not much else.
I sat at the rookery blind from noon to 4pm about two weeks ago. Of course the light was very harsh, but I did manage to see a few Purple Gallinule, Common Moorhen, American Coot, a Green Heron and a Sora... along with a gator or two.
